Why Join LEAVE A LEGACY®?
Is your organization involved with LEAVE A LEGACY® Stark County? If not, you will no doubt want to be! And here is why...
While over 70% of households nationwide contribute to charity each year (Nonprofit Times), less than 6% are planning a charitable bequest (Planned Giving in the United States, a Survey of Donors, NCPG, 1992). It is estimated that older Americans will transfer $40-$100 trillion of net worth to the next generation by the year 2040 — the largest intergenerational wealth transfer in history.
If you're like every other nonprofit organization in the country, you are faced with a serious dilemma. The fact is that you will never have enough money to hire enough staff, to see enough people face-to-face, or to cultivate the number and amount of planned gifts you need to endow your mission into the future.
LEAVE A LEGACY® Stark County is offering partnerships to nonprofit organizations so that they have the resources to implement a bequest program in their organization...
By becoming a partner nonprofits will receive:
- Participation in ongoing regional training programs about how to implement a bequest program and use the LEAVE A LEGACY® logo and materials which can help your organization.
- Initial copies of the LEAVE A LEGACY® Stark County's attractive brochure are provided. Additional brochures are available at cost.
- Access to experienced planned giving professionals and speakers who will help to inspire your constituencies - board, staff, volunteers, and donors - to include your charity in their wills.
- Access to resources and a listing of your organization on the LEAVE A LEGACY® Stark County's web site. This opportunity will link your constituents and new prospects with information about how they can help to advance the good works of your organization by making a bequest.
- Inclusion in regional media campaigns highlighting inspiring stories about local individual donors' generosity to charities that will encourage more donors to make bequests.
- A packet of information providing you with samples of drop-in ads, a glossary of planned giving and estate planning terms, important resource information contacts, LEAVE A LEGACY® logo usage guidelines and important web site resources.
The membership fee is based on the size of the nonprofit. In order to join LEAVE A LEGACY® Stark County, register for upcoming information sessions, or learn more about the program contact the program by phone at 330-454-9461 or email leavealegacy@goodwillcanton.org.
